BUILD YOUR BACKGROUD

ID-10045355

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning (Proverbs 9:9).

The background or foundation of everything is so important, therefore the need to be vigilant and build our backgrounds. For instance, for somebody to be successful and have an impact on the world, it is important to become a Christian and abide in the word of God. Receiving Jesus Christ as one’s personal savior opens doors of fulfillment.

More on the scripture above; for a man to become wiser, he has to have some level of wisdom as a foundation to build on. For a student to progress from one level of academia to the next, it is important for that student to have a sound background or foundation to build on. It is our responsibility as children of God to build our foundations so that we can move from one level of glory to the next. Your level of glory now provides the background to move into another level of glory. The question to you is: how sound is your background now in any endeavor that you want to pursue? Build your background with the word of God and sound knowledge in other relevant books and you will always be a vessel for God to use to bless the world. As you bless the world with your potentials, you move to other levels of glory. Amen.

CANDLE OF THE LORD

ID-100219191

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly (Proverbs 20:27)

Man relates to God through his spirit because God is spirit. So it matters very much how you develop your spirit man in order to connect with God. That is why salvation is very important as the first step. Moreover, it is the responsibility of your spirit to discover the secrets of life and make life exciting and fulfilling.

THE RESPONSIBILITY IS YOURS!

ID-100116571

In secondary school, I was part of a student body called Scriptural Union (SU) where we met periodically to learn the word of God and share with other students who were not born again. Our patron always encouraged us to study very well whilst we did the work of God on campus. There were a few students among us who devoted all their time for the work of Gospel and neglected the main purpose for which they were on campus, that is, to study, make good grades and get placement in a university.  At the end of three years, these students were ‘recognised’ as students of the word of God but could not pass their qualifying examinations to the university. The failure of these students even repelled some others from getting close to the SU! These students failed to balance their academic work with the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on campus.

To reap a harvest, you must sow a seed. Seed sowing is a responsibility! More often than not, there is a part to play for God’s word to materialize in our lives. The gospel of Jesus Christ is replete with seed sowing and reaping a harvest. A typical example of seed sowing is that which was done by our heavenly father. Giving out Jesus Christ to die for our sins was a seed He sowed and now, He has reaped the whole world to Himself. It is now the responsibility of man to accept the provision of God by confessing Jesus as his/her personal saviour for salvation to complete. In fact, God in His omnipotent can operate on earth without man’s role but He would hardly do it because He has given the power of dominion on earth to man. God has given man has the power of choice so God will need the consent of man to operate with man on earth.

Matthew 7:7 states that “Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”. Jesus Christ made it clear to us that there is always a responsibility for us to play to enjoy the treasures of the kingdom although the treasures are already deposited in our spirits.

Again, Matthew 5:6 (“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled”) clearly talks about our responsibility to desire for righteousness. The desire is likened to a seed which when sown will yield a harvest, that is, righteousness.

YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

ID-100230720

Matthew 5.14: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Have you taken some time off to review the impact you have made on your world in 2013? If yes, then well-done. If not, then it is about time you carry out that activity.  Being the light of the world means you are a leader in the world. This comes with responsibilities to be executed. You are to provide direction, no matter how small it may seem, to the world around you. A lot of people are not having it easy and once the child of God shows up, solution must come! The direction you provide must yield positive results in the short term or medium term or long term. Every child of God is a leader.

However, it is our responsibility to function in this grace of leadership. King Saul in the good book was chosen by God to lead the people of Israel. Saul had all it took to function in the position of leadership because when God says you are able, then surely, you are able; but Saul failed and God had to choose David to succeed Saul. Saul failed because at a point, he thought he could do it all alone without God. For you to be a good leader, see yourself as being capable to lead, rely on the strength of God and the assistance of your team members.
