GRACE FOR GOOD WORK

ID-100160855

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work ( 2 Corinthians 9:8).

The scripture above teaches us that the child of God is capable of receiving or collecting all grace from God. Grace is that which provides extra strength for a christian; grace is unmerited favour. As you receive or collect more grace, you get to the stage where you lack nothing- all things are made available to you for you to abound in good works. To abound in good works include helping to witness to more people, helping the less privilege, advancing in your carrier so you can bless more people, being a good spouse etc….. It is rather a blessing to be a child of God.

HIS WORD BUILDS US UP

ID-10077892

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32).

God’s word develops the child of God in all areas of endeavor and brings him/her to a position of influence. In the position of influence, remember to be a blessing to His other children and help in reaching more people with the Gospel. Continue to build your life on the word of God!

WHY DO WE PRAY?

ID-10021767

Prayer is an important part of every religion. Even non-religious persons sometimes say some prayers especially when challenges arise. In Christianity, prayer is a privilege granted to the child of God to have fellowship with the God-head. How do we feel when we are having great fellowships with our earthly parents? We feel very accepted and confident at home and wherever we find ourselves. We may not be liked by our peers in school for several reasons but so long us we know that we are loved by our parents and always have fellowship, we are at least ok.

As we pray, we make investment in eternity. It can be likened to buying of shares in an investment market. As we buy shares, we are confident that in future we will get some returns on our investment. Of course it is true that sometimes, we make losses on our investments but prayer as a form of investment comes with no losses! We may be enjoying some blessings now because of the prayers we made some years back or because of the prayers of loved ones which were made some years back.

As we pray, the eyes of our understanding are enlightened. We are able to understand the scriptures more and obey the scriptures. Our spirits are tuned up to receive encouragement and revelations from God to be able to impact on the world around us. We are able to get more understanding about situations around us and to know the right things to do and at what time to do these right things. We are able to connect to the ideas and visions of God concerning situations in our lives.

Prayer makes tremendous power or strength available for the child of God. Power is the ability to cause changes. A lot of activities go on in the spiritual realm. Things that happen in the physical realm have some connections in the spiritual realm. As we pray, we are able to cause changes in the spiritual realm and later see these changes in the physical realm.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 states that we should pray without ceasing. This shows us how important prayer is to the child of God. If you abrogate the communion between you and your loving father, several negative consequences can result therefore the need to always commune with the father. Scripture is replete with several instances where prayers were said and positive results were achieved. In the book of Acts, the church prayed for imprisoned Peter and an angel rescued him from prison. Several miracles of Jesus were done after He had prayed.

GO FOR THE WORD!

ID-10015132

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32)

The good old book contains every information we need to build us up and make us rich, healthy and become a blessing. God desires that we become a blessing to the whole world because the world is full of ‘darkness’ and uncertainties. What we need to be conscious of is that, riches, health and the ability to become a blessing to the world is already deposited in our spirits. These are already our inheritance and it is about time we recognise these and live them in our daily routines. The scriptures tell us that we are doers of the word, that is, we have the ability to live the word of God in our daily lives. It should not be difficult for the christian to live and do God’s word in the world. Our limitation is the information we have in our mind apart from the word of God. All around us we see limitations which have no power to suppress us but because of our mind-set, we think some things are not possible and some others, based on our judgement, are possible.

God’s word tells us that all things are possible to him who believes. If God says so, then that settles it. We are able to do the impossible through the Holy Spirit. The great men of this world did glorious things beyond the natural mind of limitation and the world has always celebrated these great leaders. If you want to be celebrated, go for the word and do the impossible.   God bless you as you meditate and live His word.
